The meeting of two terroirs
How did the first cognac with a Burgundian spirit come about?
It all begins far from home
Emmanuel is from Burgundy, following in his father's footsteps, but he distanced himself from it for almost ten years while working for an international cognac house.
Through travels, tastings and encounters, he developed a deep relationship with the world of cognac.
Cognac could tell a different story.
Something more personal.
Because Emmanuel comes from a different culture.
A Burgundian culture where precision, balance and terroir are also discussed.

2024: The Puligny Montrachet barrel
In this story, one person plays a central role: Claude. A distiller and small-scale producer in Segonzac, in the heart of the Grande Champagne region, he perpetuates a family know-how passed down for more than five generations , while also being a long-time friend of the Villier family.
Claude shares with Emmanuel the same vision of the product: take the time, respect the material, let the terroir speak.

In 2024, Emmanuel visits Claude with a unique gift: a barrel of Puligny, a symbol of the world's greatest white wines.
This event will change the course of history.
"What if, for the first time, we brought together Burgundian culture and cognac expertise in a single house?"
2025
To propose a new approach to cognac
After several years with a major company, Emmanuel made a rare choice: to leave an established career to create a cognac that did not yet exist.
A more precise, more elegant cognac, freer in its approach.
This is how Maison Villier was born, a house where each vintage is thought out from A to Z, and each creation reflects the union between the two terroirs.

Emmanuel cannot imagine this adventure alone.
By his side is Anna, his wife, whose discerning eye and exacting standards guide each of his decisions. Through her roots and family memories in Portugal, she also inspires a part of the house's universe, particularly its creations and recipes, which bring a touch of southern generosity and Burgundian elegance.
Jules and Eugène, their sons, are also involved in this family adventure, alongside their studies, already taking a careful look at this legacy in the making.
